The route starts at Barbate´s port, it goes all the way round the Almadraba area, which is opposite the port. Afterwards, it heads out west till it reaches Cape Trafalgar. Later it follows the coastline that heads to Caños de Meca, travelling along the barbate Pine Forest and Marshlands Natural Park (Parque Natural La Breña y Marismas del Barbate).

Setting off from Barbate´s port, the "Francisco Varo" starts its route visiting the Almadraba. Later it heads for the Strait Natural Park (Parque Natural del Estrecho) reaching the Camarinal Point (Punta Camarinal). The journey continues close to the coast so you can enjoy the wonderful views of Sierra Retín, the Gracia Point (Punta de Gracia), the Cabo Plata beach and the Almadraba of Cabo Plata, which is opposite Zahara de los Atunes. Leaving Barbate´s port, the vessel surround the Almadraba heading to Caños de Meca, it follows the coast of Barbate´s Pine Forest and Marshlands Natural Park (Parque Natural La Breña y Marismas del Barbate), enjoying the views of the cliffs, the Tajo Tower (Torre del Tajo) and Hierbabuena beach.
